Street art festival POW! WOW! Rotterdam will take place again from 6 to 13 September in the Rotterdam neighborhood Afrikaanderwijk. Because of the developments after the COVID-19 outbreak, the organization only invites artists living in the Netherlands. “That does not prevent us from realizing a lot of beautiful art again in the south side of Rotterdam. The level of artists in the Netherlands is sky-high,” says festival director Dave Vanderheijden. Today the organization announces the line-up.
The street artists artists will be working in the Afrikaanderwijk neighborhood from 6 to 13 September. Not only to make the so-called murals, but also to work with intervention art. This is art that blends in perfectly with its surroundings and creates new situations or thoughts. Artistic director Daniël Claessens is happy with the line-up: “The fact that we have to constrain ourselves to artists living in the Netherlands doesn’t mean we can’t offer diversity. We have cartoon specialists, graphic wizards, artists who paint photorealistic walls, sign-painters and artists who make abstract works. That promises a lot of beautiful murals!”
The POW! WOW! Rotterdam 2020 lineup includes:

In addition to the murals and intervention art, visitors can visit unique exhibitions in temporarily vacant houses in the Afrikaanderwijk, which are called 55 TIMES 5. 20 VANS 30 CANS, in which twenty vehicles are painted, will be back by popular demand. The line-ups of these parts of the festival will follow soon.
The grand finale of POW! WOW! Rotterdam takes place during the Rotterdam Street Culture Weekend. Rotterdam will give you the best of the world’s street culture from the 11th till the 13th of September.
